What qualifications are required to become a Yojié Franchisee?
We are seeking people whose passions are to grow, learn and be open to constantly bettering themselves. One must have a good business sense, impeccable work ethic, constant self-motivation, and must love to serve others and the community. We want to work with people who recognize the potential of this healthy and interactive dining concept known as Japanese Fondue (Shabu Shabu/ Sukiyaki) and who can share that excitement with us. Meeting the minimum financial qualifications is also a requirement.

How much money do I need to open a franchise?

You will need a minimum of $200,000 in non-borrowed personal resources (liquid assets, e.g. cash, marketable securities, stocks, etc…) along with an overall net worth (total assets minus total liabilities) of $500,000 to qualify. Financing is to be secured through third-party lending sources. The total investment of each unit varies by size and location. $535,750 to $1,073,500.

How much are the royalties and other fees?

The Yojié Royalty Fee is 5% of gross sales for continuing services and support. Ongoing Advertising Fees are 2% of gross sales.

How much can I make as a Yojié Franchisee?

We are restricted by the Federal Trade Commission and various state franchise sales regulations from providing you with specific profit projections.

Does Yojié offer financing?

No. However, we can direct potential franchisees to sources that can provide financing options in the areas of equipment leasing, construction and SBA loans. Yojié is currently listed in the franchise registry a national online listing of approved franchise systems whose franchisees will receive accelerated loan processing through the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Through this process, small business owners are provided with higher levels of service and quicker loans.

Do I need restaurant experience to own a Yojié Franchise?

No. Experience in the restaurant industry is helpful but not a must. So long as you are 100% committed in learning, you’ll be able to operate your restaurant like a real restaurateur with the information and tools we will give you. We do require you to have some sort of management experience or experience in leading a team or organization.

How long does it take to open a store?

It typically takes about 6-8 months from signing the franchise agreement to opening day at your Yojié Japanese Fondue Restaurant. However, Each location is different, depending on a variety of factors, including site selection, build-out, requirements and training.

I’ve never built a store before. How does this all work?

The Yojié team will guide you through all phases of the site selection, lease negotiation, design, construction, permits, training, grand opening and ongoing processes for marketing and operations. The beauty is that you’re in business for yourself but not by yourself.

What kind of training can I expect as a franchisee?

Before opening a store, you will go through a 7-week training program. This consists of 3 weeks at headquarters and 4 weeks of real life management experience by way of our apprenticeship program in a Yojié location. In the program you will learn everything you need to know to properly operate your restaurant and ensure the integrity of our brand.

Do you permit Absentee owners?

No. We are currently looking for Owner/ Operators and people who want to be involved in their business. We are looking for the people who will really care about their restaurant and interact with their guests and their community regularly. There’s just something about seeing someone’s face light up after trying this concept for the first time, which an absentee owner will be robbed of. We require franchisees to be an Owner/ Operator for the first 1-2 years so that they can build relationships with their guests, learn and understand the business, and to create a sense of pride. Success will be EARNED but we definitely don’t intend for our franchisees to be slaves to their business for the rest of their life.
